Unwanted or potentially dangerous electronic email messages

One of the most used means of communication for exchanging messages is email. The use of this tool has spread and therefore there has also been a considerable increase of messages sent to trouble, to advertise products of various sort and to send emails containing viruses or links to websites to install dialer, to ask for sensitive details from unknown sources.

For this purpose, we would like to specify that:

• Communications sent by Aruba.it to its users, all come from @staff.aruba.it addresses (NOT, for example, from @aruba.it addresses);
• Aruba does NOT request confirmation or to enter details such as passwords or secret codes by e-mail;
• Payments by credit card can only be carried out through the provided forms found on-line entered in the website of Aruba on protected pages. It is NOT requested to send the credit card codes or pin by email
In order to avoid any problems, when you receive emails you must follow some basic rules such as:

• DO NOT open attachments which contain executable files or which request an installation, as for example .exe, .bat, etc…
• DO NOT give credit card codes, passwords or other personal information when replying to emails with unclear origin;
• Read the text of the email carefully and DO NOT click on any links if you are not sure that the website to which you will be taken is reliable;
Here below we indicate some examples of messages sent to various users of the net which have a false, unreliable or potentially dangerous content.

Phishing Messages

Phishing is telematic fraud which consists in the creation of a ‘bogus’ Web site, similar to that of an on-line service ( Italian Post, bank websites, etc), created to steal the details entered by the user (usually secret codes and credit card numbers).

Some arrived emails:

Request of account details confirmation

Misleading messages sent to make you download virus or dialer

Often we receive communications regarding bogus messages which contain information and reference relative to those who have received them and which request to follow certain procedures in a threatening way. Their only aim is to take the users to a website through which they will download and install viruses or so on.
