If a .eu domain name is not renewed by the expiration date, Eurid will be requested to cancel it and it will then be placed in Quarantine: the domain name will be assigned to the same owner until it is finally cancelled (after 40 days), after which it will be available again for a new registration.
During the Quarantine period, the domain may be reactivated by the owner, by following the Renewal process.
If the domain in Quarantine is currently registered with a provider other than Aruba, to activate it with Aruba, the owner will need to follow the Transfer process.
N.B. The expiration date of recovered domain names will be extended by one year from the recovery date.
