How to transfer a domain that is registered with another Internet Service Provider to a Dedicated or VPS Server

To transfer a domain name that is currently registered with another ISP to a dedicated or VPS server of Aruba, you need to complete the following steps:

Set up the hosting of the domain on the dedicated/VPS server and transfer the files which make up the website,

- If you wish to manage the emails of the domain directly on the dedicated/VPS server create the required email accounts on the dedicated/VPS server (or you can manage your emails on the shared servers of Aruba),

- Once the website (and any email account) is fully functional on the dedicated/VPS server, transfer the domain to Aruba from, and select the " Domain registration with DNS management" service with or without mail.

If you select registration WITH mail, you will be able to manage the hosting services on the dedicated/VPS server and your emails on the shared servers of Aruba (with the same features as the email accounts associated to the Hosting services), whereas if you select registration WITHOUT mail, all the services must be managed by the users directly on their servers.

- Once the transfer has been completed, go to the control panel of the domain at http://admin.domainname and by using the "DNS Management" option, associate the hosts "www.domainname", "ftp.domainname" etc... to the IP address of the dedicated/VPS server.

We recommend that you do not change the parameters of the host "admin.domainname" as it must stay the same to allow access to the " http://admin.domainname" control panel.

If you wish to manage your emails through the dedicated/VPS server, you can choose to use your own server as opposed to the mail servers of Aruba from the "DNS Management" control panel (if you have chosen the service WITHOUT mail naturally this is mandatory).

We remind you that during the transfer the hosting services and mail services will be interrupted for around 24/48 hours.
